About the Founder, Fu Ton...
Fu Ton helps people to get better and back to their 'normal baseline' in their daily activities so they can move more and move well while spending more time with their loved ones and doing things they enjoy. And yes.. baseline may vary from individuals to individuals. Sometimes, it's still possible to go beyond the baseline, sometimes realistically it's just about maintenance and not making things worse as it is.
During the early years when Fu Ton was still studying in the UK, he already foresee the room for improvements in terms of the quality of care by healthcare providers. Fu Ton still remembers there is this one time when he turned to his supervisor and asked, "Why did you give the client this treatment when you could do this (which was what he believed back then to be a better preferred option)"? And from the answer Fu Ton got, he was shocked to learn that there's a different standards of care provided to clients.. He started questioning his profession and role. Very frustrated with the answers he got, where most professionals settled upon (his supervisors' included), he was disappointed whatever provided to client just seemed to like a chores only to get done at bare-minimum standard, when clearly there's a life we could impact massively so the person in front of us can be productive again, can be more confident about themselves again and be free to be themselves again. From that point in time, Fu Ton commited to come to Brunei NOT to settle for less than even what the biggest healthcare can provide. He decided to create a system and quality of care where people can recover faster yet at the same time learn to manage their condition themselves. Time & attention surely lies between the client from achieving result from where they are. And with it, he believes Education plays a key role in achieving this outcome for the client. Fu Ton knew there's still so much work to do in Brunei to improve the healthcare settings, specifically the rehab industry. As much as Fu Ton knows there's room for improvement in the healthcare industry, he also preach that we always maintain a good health, and prevention. To do this is more than just being physical and it requires a more active approach. If one wants to have the "longevity" to maintain health till a older age, their body should be their utmost priority to take care of. Besides it's the only thing we truly have direct control of.. Over the years, Fu Ton has met number of people who put their health first (even at age of 50 overs) understanding it's all the small things being done daily that contributes to the longevity a person wanted. The body is an interesting yet complex machine. But the 'approach' to taking care of it was always stay to the root simple. It can be done. It's just a matter if you want it or not.
